Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Bhanu Prakash from Bhadohi district in Uttar Pradesh received a shock when he saw an astronomical sum of ₹99,99,94,95,999.99 credited to his Baroda UP bank account. The incident began when Prakash noticed a smaller, unexpected credit of ₹9,900 and promptly reported it to bank authorities. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a software glitch had erroneously converted his Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan account into a Non-Performing Asset (NPA), resulting in the enormous sum being reflected in his account.
Rohit Gautam, the branch manager, confirmed the error and assured that immediate steps were being taken to rectify the situation. The bank has put Prakash's account on hold temporarily to prevent any misuse while the issue is resolved. The incident highlights the potential risks associated with banking software errors and the importance of swift corrective measures.
